Turkish Cypriots await recognition from Azerbaijan

The pseudo-state expects Azerbaijan to officially recognize it as a country, Turkish Cypriot “prime minister” Faiz Suzuoglu said on Thursday.

“Our expectation, especially as brothers, is that Azerbaijan, with which we come from the same roots, speak the same language and share the same religion, will recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which will be an important step.” , Suzuoglu told the Anadolu agency.

Suzuoglu noted that there would be no federal solution to the ongoing peace process on the island, “so we have made our decision on that. From now on there will be the status of two sovereign, equal states (on the island),” he said.

“In this matter, there is the right attitude of our President Ersin Tatar and the incredible support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”

“They will know that if they slap them, they will be punched. This is how our homeland protects us [Τουρκία]. Therefore, we are very comfortable with this direction in the TRNC, because we know that behind us is the huge force of 84 million [Τούρκων]”, he said.

Suzuoglu also stressed the importance of energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean.

“Cyprus is an unsinkable aircraft carrier. Whoever rules in Cyprus is the one who rules in the Middle East and North Africa. There is the TRNC and the motherland. Turkish Cyprus will continue its struggle in this direction until the end,” he added. .

Sedop: Our national goal is Cyprus

The case of the Turkish Cypriots and the pseudo-state is also Turkey’s national affair, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sedop said on Thursday, reiterating Ankara’s stance on the Cyprus issue.

“Everyone in Turkey agrees on the TRNC. We have always supported and will continue to support the TRNC under any circumstances,” Sentop said after welcoming Turkish Cypriot lawmakers and Prime Minister Faiz Suzuoglu to the Turkish parliament in the capital Ankara.

“Undoubtedly, this is not just a matter of emotions. The TRNC case is our national affair,” Sentop said, stressing that the Turkish Cypriot case is based on legitimate legal, political and historical foundations.
