Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoλουlu announced today that he had been diagnosed with coronavirus again just five days after recovering from Covid-19.
Tsavousoglu made the statement during his official visit to Kazakhstan.
“After the positive test I took in Kazakhstan, we had a meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group with my brother (Kazakh Foreign Minister) Mukhtar Tileuberdi via video conference, for precautionary reasons,” he wrote in a Twitter post.
On February 16, Tsavousoglou announced that he tested positive for Covid-19. The symptoms he experienced were mild and he continued to perform his duties from home. On the 19th of the same month, he announced via Twitter that the coronavirus test he had undergone had turned out to be negative.
New coronavirus cases in Turkey are around 80,000 daily, according to the latest figures from the country’s Health Ministry.
