Turkish Media: ‘Bakhceli’s map woke up Athens’

The Turkish media are disturbed by the US-Greece Poseidon’s Rage 22 exercise, while the opposition press highlights Mitsotakis’ reaction to Bakhtseli, who was presented with a map showing half of the Aegean and Crete as belonging to Turkey.

Regarding the joint exercise, the Turkish media speak of a step by the US that threatens Turkey and of an exercise in Crete “which is close to Turkey with the participation of 10 F-35 and 14 F-15”.

According to SKAI, the opposition Turkish press is commenting that Devlet Bakhceli created a political crisis with Greece by posing next to the map showing the Turkish half of the Aegean and Crete. They also report that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has called on Erdogan to answer if this is an official Turkish position. In the pro-government press, the issue is not shown.

The titles are typical:

SOZCU: “Bakhtseli’s photo caused a diplomatic crisis. Mitsotakis, addressing Erdogan, reacted strongly”.

CUMHURIYET: “Mitsotakis reaction to Bakhtseli. This is provocation or your real goal”.

HAVER GLOBAL: “The map given to Devlet Bakhtseli by the youth organization of his party woke up Athens”.
