Turkish media: Bomb found on patrol guarding Erdogan's speech

A police officer serving in the southeastern Turkish city of Mardin has been ordered to go through Batman to nearby Sirte to reinforce forces guarding Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s speech in the city.

According to reports which are quite confusing, another police officer saw the explosive device under the colleague’s car and immediately sounded the alarm.

The mechanism was neutralized by a group of pyrotechnicians.

“As the terrorist organization’s defeats increase, who knows what else, what confessions, what betrayal, what kind of evil will be revealed,” Erdogan told the rally, implying that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) was responsible for the incident. At the same time, opposition pages refer to the government as a “naive propaganda attempt” aimed at rallying voters for Erdogan’s party.
