Turning point in the search for Edoardo Galli: the missing seventeen-year-old passed through the Milan station

Hopes are rekindled for finding Edoardo Galli, the 17-year-old who disappeared on Thursday 21 March from Colico in the province of Lecco. The surveillance cameras at Milan Central Station filmed him on the morning of the day his traces were lost.

He would have gotten off at 9.50 am on March 21st from a train taken at Morbegno station (Sondrio), where he attends scientific high school. From the video, the boy appears in good health and in full possession of his mental faculties: he was eating an ice cream, walking past the shops and there was also another person with him.

This means that his removal was voluntary and that Edoardo Galli is not, as had been hypothesized, in the Lecco mountains. The searches between Casargo and Colico were therefore suspended.

The Carabinieri continue their investigations: they are trying to understand where the boy was headed, and in particular whether he used high-speed trains or buses to head east. Edoardo Galli he also has a double passportsince the mother is Russian, and the document is missing from her room: according to the parents, since the boy is an idealist and pacifist and was shocked by the war in Ukrainehe may have tried to cross the border.

On Thursday 21 March, Edoardo left to go to the Nervi scientific high school in Morbegno, but he never got there. He had told his parents that he had an appointment in the afternoon: the mother and father only became worried in the evening, when they tried to contact him and found the phone was always turned off.

Before walking away he would take a sleeping bag from home and also look for news about the war in Ukraine.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a dark blue denim jacket, a beige fleece and trousers, a brown checked shirt, and white sneakers. She has a small scar on her right eyebrow and wears glasses.
