TV debut was harder than getting over cancer, says Gianecchini

In À Prioli, Gabriela Prioli asked Reynaldo Gianecchini if his television debut with “Laços de Família” was the happiest time of his life. “Definitely not,” she replied. “In my head, it wasn’t exactly a success. Inside me it wasn’t a success because I was still very green as an actor, I didn’t think I was good yet, I wasn’t exactly at peace having fun”.

According to Gianecchini, the year he debuted on television was perhaps one of the most difficult years of his life, even compared to the time he discovered he had cancer. “Then I had a year where I was sick, almost to death, but it was a difficult year elsewhere. My head was more screwed when I debuted in the soap opera than when I was sick”.

He explained that, when he received the diagnosis, he accepted it without fighting and decided to live the process one day at a time: “And each day was so interesting. Life took on another meaning.”
