In the plot, college professor Jo Harding and a team of under-resourced students prepare a prototype for an innovative tornado data collection device created by her ex-husband, Bill. When Harding tells Bill that the device is ready for testing, and that his rival has stolen his idea, Bill joins the team for one last mission in search of tornadoes.
