Elon Musk announced yesterday, Tuesday, in a post that the Twitter Inc platform will always be free for casual users, but the company may charge a small subscription for business users and governments as the billionaire businessman tries to make Twitter more accessible to most Americans.
“Twitter will always be free for casual users, but there may be a small cost for commercial and government users,” Musk said in a post.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Musk is the CEO of electric vehicle maker Tesla, and has been proposing a series of changes to Twitter since last month. Following the recent announcement of a deal to acquire the company by himself, Musk announced that he wants to strengthen the aforementioned social networking platform with new features.
