O twitter announced, this Sunday (18), that it will remove accounts that promote other social networks within the platform.
“We recognize that many of our users are active on other social media platforms. However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter,” the company said.
According to Twitter, accounts created “exclusively for the purpose of promoting other social platforms” will be disabled, mentioning rival networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post.
Posts that make references to links or usernames from platforms other than those cited above are still allowed.
Twitter also said it will continue to allow cross-posting of content from any other social media platform.
