Twitter suspends paid tickets in Spaces chat rooms

Twitter has suspended paid entries to its live audio chat feature in the app, called Twitter Spaces, a competitor to the Clubhouse social network. This suspension took place last month, before the purchase of Twitter by billionaire Elon Musk was made official last Thursday (27).

A Twitter spokesperson said in a note to the specialized website The Information that this is a “pause” in the function: “We have paused the Spaces trial with paid tickets indefinitely so we can focus on continuing to improve and bring new features to the core Spaces experience.”

In recent years, Twitter has been releasing several new features and features within its platform to better monetize users. One example was the Super Follow tool, which allows content creators on Twitter to charge their followers for special tweets.

Despite the paid version of Spaces, Twitter said it wants to bring new features to the tool. The social network is currently testing the Communities tool, which connects users with similar interests.

After the acquisition of Musk, the new owner’s bet is to boost the company’s revenue – but details of the billionaire’s plans were not given. Still, the bet is to reduce content moderation, eliminate robots and lay off employees.
