Twitter will roll out “verified” in gold and gray, as well as blue, says Musk

Twitter will launch gold and gray verification badges as it relaunches the coveted blue “verified service” next Friday, Chief Executive Elon Musk said in a post on the social network, after delaying the launch earlier this month. week.

“Verified golden for companies, verified Grey for governments, blue for individuals (celebrities or otherwise). Painful but necessary,” Musk said in a tweet.

All verified accounts will be manually authenticated before verification is activated, Musk said.

“Individuals may have a secondary lowercase logo to show they belong to an organization if verified as such by that organization,” Musk said in another tweet, adding he would provide a more detailed explanation next week.

The company had delayed its recently announced $8 blue check subscription service due to the growth of fake accounts, and said the sought-after subscription service will relaunch on Nov. 29.

The brand was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, famous personalities, journalists and other public figures.
