Two Al Jazeera journalists injured by drone attack in southern Gaza

Two Al Jazeera journalists were injured, this Friday (15), by a missile fired from a drone in Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, reported the broadcaster.

Al Jazeera said reporter Wael al-Dahdouh had injuries to his hand and was being treated, while journalist Samer Abu Daqqa lay injured on the floor of a school in Khan Younis and still trapped inside. It is still unclear what his health status is.

Dahdouh received treatment at Nasser Hospital. According to Palestinian doctor Mohammed Qandil, he was injured by shrapnel in his right hand, but his condition is stable.

Head of the Arabic broadcaster’s bureau in Gaza city, Dahdouh became internationally known at the end of October, when, during an emotional live broadcast, he discovered that his wife, son, daughter and grandson were killed in an Israeli bombing.

On that occasion, the journalist had 12 family members killed in the attack. The explosion hit a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza, where the family was taking shelter after being displaced.
