Two Sergeants of the Brazilian Army were executed on Friday (4/4), in Tinguá, in the city of Nova Iguaçu, in the Baixada Fluminense.
The two military personnel were from the 25th Army Logistic Battalion. The body of one of them was found charred inside a car. The other was rescued but also died with his body burned when he was on his way to the hospital.
According to witnesses, the crime happened near a place where there is a traditional party, known in the region as a feast of the wahoo.
The sergeant who was found dead in the car was 29 years old and was identified as Matheus da Silva Souza. Already what was rescued by Samu, was 24 years old and was called Jefferson Moura Gomes.
The Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF) investigates the case and agents are searching to investigate the authorship and motivation of the crime.
A source heard by CNN said the sergeants would have been executed because of a debt collection.
“One of them lent money to a cable that went down at the end of the year… charged the guy and nothing. When he was charged the guy ordered to go … the cable gave them to the militia, the guy still shot in the leg of one before, and set fire to the car,” he said.
“One died charred on the spot … the other was still taken alive, but inhabited a lot of smoke and was 80% of his body burned… He died on his way to the hospital.”
CNN contacted the Brazilian Army. In a statement, the East Military Command regretted the death of the two sergeants of the 25 ° B log (ES). The CML also reported that it sympathizes with the families of the military and that it is providing all the necessary support to relatives and remains available to collaborate with the determination of the facts.
