Two children stole guns from a house and exchanged shots with police in Florida

Two children in Florida burst out of a foster home, broke into a house and became involved in exchange of shots with police officers, who had rushed to the spot, became known today (2/6) by the authorities.

A 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl found weapons inside the house, which broke into Enterprise, Florida, and shot at police, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement, according to APE-MPE.

The 14-year-old girl was shot and injured, after he marked the police with a gun.

“The 12-year-old boy, armed with an AK-47, finally dropped his weapon shortly afterwards and was not injured,” the sheriff said in a statement.

The teenage girl underwent surgery and her state of health is stable, according to the principles. No one was injured in the shooting, which took place last night.

The two young men had left the roof of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, in Enterprise, yesterday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.

A few hours later, they broke into a house. Passers-by complained that they heard windows being broken and called the authorities.

Police surrounded the house. At that point, shots were fired from inside the house. In the house there was a revolver, a firearm and the AK-47, along with a large number of ammunition.

In the space of 35 minutes, four shots were fired. “The police did everything they could tonight to de-escalate the situation and they barely lost their lives to a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old,” said Volusia County Sheriff Mike Cheetwood.
