Two dams broke in the city of Canguçu, in Rio Grande do Sul, after heavy rains in the last two weeks.
According to the city hall, damage was recorded to livestock production properties, roads and more than 56 bridges. There is no record of any victims so far.

In the last 14 days, the city received more than 400 millimeters of rain. “Despite the difficulties caused by these periods of heavy rain, the Civil Defense and City Hall teams continue to carry out intense recovery work and provide assistance to those affected,” Canguçu City Hall said in a statement.
At the beginning of September, heavy rains hit 97 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul, leaving 4,800 homeless and more than 20,000 homeless. In total, 340,928 people were affected. 47 deaths and 925 injuries were reported.
