Two people were killed and eight injured by Russian attack earlier today in the city of Toretsk in eastern Ukraine, as Donetsk regional governor Pavlo Kirilenko announced. According to Kirilenko, a high-rise building and a gas station were hit in the city of Toretsk, which before the start of the Russian invasion had a population of about 30,000.
“Every day the Russians launch deliberate attacks on civilians in the Donetsk region“, Kirilenko wrote in his post on the Telegram platform according to the Athens News Agency.
The Kremlin stresses that Russian attacks do not target civilians and denies accusations of war crimes during the “special military operation”, as it calls the invasion of Ukraine.
The Donetsk region has been the scene of fierce and deadly battles in recent months.
