THE Japan shaken by the large earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale which left behind two dead and massive destruction.
Shortly after four in the afternoon local time, the earthquake struck and the Earth began to shake in Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan, spreading panicin the central and northern parts of the country, on New Year's Day.
Within seconds of Enceladus hitting, buildings collapsed near the epicenter of the 7.6-magnitude earthquake.
Authorities immediately issued a tsunami warning, while the first waves hit the western coastline of Japan.
The earthquake had a focal depth of only ten kilometers, a long duration and was felt, from one end to the other, in Japan. Authorities called on millions of residents near the coasts to evacuate immediately. Local media reported that dozens of buildings had collapsed or suffered damage.

The dramatic moments of the earthquake were described in MEGA by Ioannis Lantouris, a Greek resident of Japan who lives near the epicenter of the earthquake.
“The whole house was shaking. We live in a detached house and we couldn't go out because you couldn't stand on your feet. The floor starts going up and down. The refrigerator, which I could see from the kitchen, was 120 kilograms of refrigerator, which was bouncing on the floor,” he said.
