Memories of the 2015 tragedy awoke

According to the French Agency, a similar tragic incident took place in the eastern part of the country, about six years ago.

On August 27, 2015, 71 irregular immigrants from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, including three children and a baby, were found dead from suffocation inside a refrigerated truck, where they had been hidden and abandoned by traffickers.

They were found in Austria, but their death had occurred while they were still in other side of borders.

Almost four years later, Hungarian courts convicted these traffickers Life imprisonment.

The shock that the public caused the incident had led to temporary opening of the border to the hundreds of thousands of people who wished to reach Western Europe at the beginning of the 2015-2016 migration wave.
