Two former employees of the Nueva Castilla motel are accused of the Debanhi Escobar case

Almost nine months after the alleged femicide of Debanhi Escobar, the investigations continue their course, making more and more progress to clarify what happened on April 21, 2022. The main place where the investigations take place is inside and outside the Nueva Castilla motel , located in Escobedo, Nuevo León, Mexico, for being the place where the body of the 18-year-old girl was found.

As a result of the search, a virtual hearing was held where, after being postponed four times, the legal situation of former workers Ana Luisa “N” and Elida Yurith “N” is finally being resolved, who were charged with falsehood in their declarations and cover-up.

It should be noted that Debanhi’s parents, Mario Escobar and Dolores Bazaldúa, were present at the hearing. On this, Mario said that he was satisfied, since he believes that while the investigation continues, the task of illuminating what really happened with his daughter will be achieved.

It is advancing, we are satisfied in the sense that we see a light at the end of the road, after almost nine months of struggle where there is a before and after what happened with Debanhi and in this sense we are not going to rest until we present a well-founded precedent.

Despite the fact that the legal situation of the ex-manager and ex-motel waitress did not reach a conclusion, they were summoned for Monday, January 9 at 4:30 p.m. to continue the hearing. It was decided this way because the defense of women requested the duplicity of the constitutional term, managing to gain a little time.

Finally, Mario Escobar added that at the end of January he will attend a hearing with the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico City to learn about the progress of the case.

Everything that the Attorney General of the Republic has done will be analyzed and we will help and be able to contribute, tell them our feelings, everything we have experienced. We are confident that the FGR will do the job well, just as the Nuevo León Prosecutor’s Office is doing right now, although they should have done it eight months ago.
