Two homeless people are found dead after a cold morning in SP

Two homeless men were found dead on Friday morning (31), between 8am and 11am, in the city of São Paulo . The deaths were registered as suspicious by the state Civil Police.

The first death was identified around 8 am, in Lago da Concórdia, Brás region, in the east of the capital of São Paulo. The 33-year-old victim was identified as João Franscisco Sandrini. The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) stated that Military Police agents were called to respond to the incident and the man was found dead.

A second incident also sent military police officers to Rua Jaguaribe, in the Consolação neighborhood, in the central region of São Paulo. A man, this time unidentified, was found three hours later, also certified dead by the Fire Department.

The state Civil Defense confirmed to the CNN that the suspicions would be that the deaths were caused by the low temperatures that plummeted in the city, but that the conditions were still being investigated.

According to the agency, in the early hours of Thursday (30), meteorological models indicated minimum temperature conditions of around 11ºC and a thermal sensation of 10ºC in the capital.

Expertise was called into the regions and the cases are investigated by the São Paulo Civil Police.

In a statement, the city of São Paulo lamented the deaths.

“The Municipal Secretariat for Social Assistance and Development (SMADS) deeply regrets the death of FHS, found lifeless between Rua Sebastião Pereira and Amaral Gurgel terminal, this Friday (31).
