During the audit in one of the private houses, 18 devices were discovered for cryptocurrency extraction. Specialists drew up an act on the unaccountable electricity consumption, according to their estimates, the farm spent 136 thousand kWh. The damage caused by the network company amounted to 822 thousand rubles.

In another private household, eight mining devices were discovered. The power engineers also recorded the fact of incomparable electricity consumption, the volume of overspending – 19 thousand kWh. The damage was estimated at 114 thousand rubles.

Until March 15, 2031, in a number of regions of Russia there is a complete ban on mining. The Republic of Dagestan is included in this list. The restriction is associated with a deficiency of energy resources.

Nevertheless, working mining-farms are regularly found in the region, often well disguised. So, even last fall in Dagestan, underground and mobile variants of farms began to find in Dagestan.

In 2024, Rosseti in the North Caucasus recorded the greatest damage from illegal miners’ connections – more than 600 million rubles. This is almost half of all the losses of the Rosseti group of companies in Russia from illegal mining, which last year amounted to a total of 1.3 billion rubles.
