According to the press service of Rosseti North Caucasus, two illegal mining farms were discovered in private houses of the village of Levashi, the Levashinsky district of Dagestan.

During the audit, the employees of the Levashinsky district electric networks of the Dagenergo branch and the security department in Dagestan together with the police found in one of the private houses 18 devices for mining cryptocurrency. Specialists drew up an act of indecent electricity consumption. According to them, the farm spent 136,000 kWh. The damage caused by the network company amounted to 822,000 rubles.

In another private household, eight mining devices were found. Power engineers recorded the fact of incompetent electricity consumption, the volume of overspending amounted to 19,000 kWh. The damage is estimated at 114,000 rubles.

In 2024, Rosseti in the North Caucasus recorded the greatest damage from illegal miners’ connections – more than 600 million rubles. This is almost half of all losses of the Rosseti group of companies in Russia from illegal mining, which last year amounted to 1.3 billion rubles.

Earlier, the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia said that the operation of an illegal mining farm, located in the hangar on the Mitrofanevsky highway in the industrial zone of the Moscow district, was stopped in St. Petersburg.
