In one more plane crash In Brazil, two men were injured after an ultralight crashed, on Sunday afternoon (19), in a forested area in the neighborhood of Caminho do Mar, in the municipality of Prado, in the extreme south of Bahia.
Pilot Rogério Amaral Nascimento, aged 62, and crew member Jonathan Ramalho de Oliveira, aged 27, were the victims of the accident. The two were rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to health units.
The aircraft reportedly suffered an engine failure, which resulted in the crash. Images posted on social media show the aircraft destroyed after the accident. See below .
According to information from the Civil Police, the fall occurred near Rua Projetada, in the Caminho do Mar neighborhood, close to a commercial establishment. Teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) provided first aid while still on site.
According to the police, Rogério Amaral Nascimento was transferred to a hospital in the region due to the severity of his injuries, while Jonathan Ramalho de Oliveira continues to receive medical care at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Prado.
The causes of the accident are being investigated, as highlighted by the Civil Police in a note. Teams from the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) and the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) were also called in to the case.
