Two men, identified as Lacimar Juriti Amancio, 37, and Kenedy Manduca Firmino, 30, were arrested by the Amazonas Civil Police (PC-AM) in the city of São Paulo de Olivença (AM), 985 kilometers from Manaus, last Monday (29).
The duo committed rape of a vulnerable person followed by the death of a 15-year-old teenager. The two were sentenced to 15 years in prison for the crimes committed against the victim and remain at the disposal of the Justice Department.
According to delegate Fernando Damasceno, who is responding for the 52nd Interactive Police Station, the complaint states that the pair raped and suffocated the victim to death on the night of March 8, 2014, in the Campo Alegre and Vila Independente communities.
Furthermore, Damasceno reported that at the time of the crime, the teenager was with a colleague when they were approached. However, the colleague managed to escape, while the 15-year-old teenager was dragged into a wooded area.
The sentence was handed down by the District of São Paulo de Olivença in 2023. At the time of their arrest, the criminals were located in the Campo Alegre community, where they lived.
