A two-month-old baby is the youngest victim of the young man’s epidemic coronavirus in Thailand.
The baby is among the 35 people who died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in the country, whose authorities are struggling to bring a third wave of the epidemic under control.
This record number of deaths in one day in this country of Southeast Asia is recorded at a time when the cases of the new coronavirus have more than tripled and the deaths have increased sixfold since the third wave of the epidemic broke out in April, after a year that Thailand managed to controlled previous outbreaks of the virus.
The baby who died of COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours suffered from a heart problem, clarified the crisis response team with the country’s COVID-19.
Bangkok, the epicenter of the recent wave, recorded 876 new cases in the past 24 hours, the highest number among the country’s provinces.

“The number of new cases in Bangkok remains high. “The total number of new cases is still on the rise,” said Tawisin Wisanuyotin, a spokesman for the Crisis Response Team.
Bangkok has so far recorded a total of 28,658 new cases since April, according to Reuters and the Athens News Agency.
The recent cases have been identified in 29 outbreaks in markets and more recently on construction sites, he added, noting that more than 1,100 new cases have been identified at a construction site in the Laxi area.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha said the government plans to vaccinate at least 5 million people in Bangkok, or 70% of its population, between June and July.
THE Thailand has also recorded a number of outbreaks in prisons and, according to the principles of the penitentiary system, a total of 11,670 inmates in 13 prisons have now become infected.
Authorities have not yet launched a mass vaccination campaign, and 1.52 million people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine so far, mostly front-line workers or members of high-risk groups.
Thailand today announced 2,473 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number in the country to 113,555 since last year when the pandemic broke out.
