Samsung has begun to distribute an update to the proprietary One UI 3.1 shell based on the fresh Android 11 operating system for the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy A42 5G smartphones.
For Galaxy M31 smartphones, firmware number M315FXXU2BUC1 is over 1 GB in size. Previously for the Galaxy M31, One UI 3.0 was already released with Android 11.
The Galaxy A42 5G has been running One UI 2.5 based on Android 10 for a long time, and now it immediately received One UI 3.1 from Android 11. Both smartphones also received the Android security update for March 2021.
Which of the new features announced in One UI 3.1 are implemented in the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy A42 5G firmware is still unknown. The list of changes depends on the specific model.
