Two more people dead from the floods in Poland

The death toll from this month’s floods in southwestern Poland has risen to nine, police said, as two more bodies were found. At least 26 people have died in central Europe this month in the worst floods to hit the region in at least two decades. The floods wreaked havoc from Romania to Poland, filling cities with mud and debris, destroying bridges and submerging homes and cars, with the cost of repairing the damage running into the billions of dollars. “In Klondzko County and Nysa County, during clean-up operations after the flood, two bodies were found,” Polish police announced on Platform X late last night. “Identification procedures are ongoing. The circumstances of the death suggest that this may be the 8th and 9th victims, whose death occurred in flood affected areas.” Source: RES
