The legal director of the American cryptocurrency exchange Binance.US, Krishna Juvvadi, and the chief risk officer, Sidney Majalia, have left the company. This is reported by WSJ.
According to the publication, their departure is due to increased pressure from regulatory authorities.
Krishna Juvvadi joined the Binance.US team in May 2022, prior to which he was the Global Head of Operations Compliance at Uber.
Majalia has been with the company since December 2021, having previously served as director of compliance at Intel.
A few days before the dismissal of top managers, it became known that Binance.US was preparing a new wave of layoffs, which would include about 100 employees. The CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange has already left his post.
This is not the first wave of layoffs at the company. In June, Binance.US cut staff amid a lawsuit from the Securities and Exchange Commission. Then about 50 people were fired, which is 10% of the staff.
