Two people are rescued after home collapse in Baixada Fluminense

Two people were rescued alive by teams from the Rio de Janeiro Fire Department, on the morning of Wednesday (9), after the collapse of a residence In Mucaja Park, in Japeri, Baixada Fluminense.

About 20 military personnel from the Queimados and Paracambi barracks acted in the rescue operation, which mobilized the neighborhood and thrilled those who followed the scene. Rescue images show dramatic moments, with firefighters removing survivors amid the rubble.

According to information from the corporation’s press office, residents were identified as Marcelo Gouvea, 51, and Elaine Ribeiro, 46. Both were aware at the time of service and received first aid still on site. Marcelo was then sent to the Polyclinic Italy Franco, while Elaine was taken to the Doctor Adalberto da Graça Municipal Hospital.

The Civil Defense reported that it banned the property and will perform an expert to investigate the causes of collapse.
