Two inmates escaped from a vehicle belonging to the Tactical Prison Escort Group (Getap), of the Minas Gerais Penitentiary Department (Depen-MG) during an escort movement by Getap agents.
The escape took place in the Via Expressa region, in the municipality of Contagem (MG), on the afternoon of this Wednesday (28).
The State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security reported in a statement that, at the moment, the police are searching for the second fugitive, identified as Jean Bruno da Silva Oliveira, 27 years old. The other inmate was recaptured by the penal police.
According to Sejusp, Depen-MG “will administratively investigate the circumstances and responsibilities for the incident.” The department emphasizes that in case of clues about the fugitive, the population can report it through the Unified Denunciation Hotline 181 (DDU 181), without the need to identify themselves.
