A two-year-old boy was killed and his mother seriously injured after storms hit the US state of Michigan.
According to reports, the child died after a tree fell on his home in Livonia, a suburb of Detroit, on Wednesday afternoon (5).
The case occurred amid severe weather conditions. The state also recorded a tornado, officials said.
Additionally, other US states were also hit by bad weather.
Images recorded on Wednesday showed a storm in the city of Gaithersburg, Maryland, causing destruction and significant injuries to the population.
Trees were uprooted and fell on homes and buildings in several areas, leaving a trail of damage.
A house collapsed during the storm, leaving five people trapped in the rubble. One person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief David Pazos.
