U.S Presidential Election Cancels second debate Mr. Trump opposes virtual format

The executive committee of the US presidential candidate debate announced on the 9th that it will cancel the second debate on the 15th of this month. The commission has decided to change the debate to a virtual format to combat the new coronavirus, but President Trump has indicated his intention to refuse.

The second debate was originally planned to be held in Miami in the form of a town hall. The final third round of debate will be held on 22nd this month in Nashville, Tennessee.

The executive committee has announced that it will focus on preparing for the third debate.

After Mr. Trump refused to attend the second debate, former Vice President Joe Biden, a Democratic presidential candidate, decided to hold his own town hall-style event at a video conference on the night of the 15th.

The Trump camp criticized the executive committee’s decision on the 9th that it was closer to Mr. Biden. “The president is healthy and ready to discuss. The debate in Miami should be held on time and there is no medical reason to stop the debate,” he said.

According to the executive committee, both candidates have agreed to participate in the debate on the 22nd. Inspection of the new corona, wearing a mask, and securing social distance are required conditions.
