An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was attacked Tuesday night at Arbil International Airport. a short distance from the US Consulate in this city in northern Iraq, The Iraqi Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Unit said in a statement.
The attack, which took place around 22:30 (Greek time), did not cause injuries or serious property damage. Firefighters put out the fire shortly after it broke out, according to the same source.
The Pentagon said in a statement that it had received no information about a UAV attack in Arbil, but said it had no reports of casualties or severe damage at the airport, where US military personnel are being recruited.
