The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, in honor of its 80th anniversary, demonstrated to the Russian public a “unique SUV” – an electric version of the “Hunter”.

It is interesting that this is not a production model, but a prototype built by the Czech company MW Motors on the units of the serial Hunter. In Europe, a model called the MWM Spartan EV is available for order at a price of 39,990 euros with a delivery time of six months.

As the press service of UAZ notes, the transmission of the car is completely factory-installed, but instead of the internal combustion engine, an electric motor of 120 kW and 600 Nm is installed. Three batteries, located at the places of the fuel tanks and in the trunk, provide an off-road range of about 200 km.

Regarding the mass production in Russia, everything is not too rosy so far. At the moment, negotiations are underway on small-scale production of a car (about 10 units per month) at the factory facilities of UAZ for European consumers.

Regarding the introduction of an electric SUV to the domestic market, UAZ has no final decision yet and it is too early to talk about a price for Russia.
