UAZ together with Yandex tested a new “lorry” in real conditions

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, aka UAZ, announced the completion of the pre-production test of a new version of the UAZ Profi Polutorka light commercial truck. The Yandex Go Delivery service helped the domestic automaker in carrying out the tests.

UAZ notes that the tests of the new “lorry” were carried out in real conditions with the participation of drivers-forwarders of the Yandex service, auto experts and media representatives. This made it possible to visually demonstrate and evaluate the design features of the new model, among the main features of which is the gable tires on the rear axle wheels. Simply put, there are now two wheels on each side of the car’s rear axle.

The test format provided for long-term personal test drives. During the day, test crews carried out orders that came through the Yandex Go Delivery aggregator, which allowed them to look at the UAZ Profi Polutorka in natural operating conditions and give it an objective assessment.

The manufacturer emphasizes that all the wishes and comments voiced by the participants in the pre-series tests were passed on to the creators of the model. Perhaps the engineers will make some changes to the new light commercial vehicle (LCV) before it goes into mass production.

Recall that the UAZ Profi series appeared on the Russian market in 2017 as a potential competitor to GAZelles in the LCV segment. However, low-tonnage trucks produced by the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant did not gain much popularity. Nevertheless, in 2021, UAZ announced the launch of a new generation, which was named the Profi Lorry. The manufacturer took into account the criticism and made serious changes to the design of the model, leaving only the engine and gearbox unchanged. Problems with the handling of a laden car were solved, for which the suspension had to be completely redesigned.

The UAZ Profi Polutorka should go on sale in the near future. Prices for it start at 980,000 rubles, excluding discounts and special applications. For an extended wheelbase, you will have to pay an additional 45,000 rubles. Manufacturer’s warranty – 4 years or 150,000 km, whichever comes first.
