The Japanese chemical company UBE Corporation Europe, based in Castellón, look optimistically to the future despite the pandemic global coronavirus health. The president of UBE, Bruno de BiÃšvre, stated on Tuesday that the company maintains intact its investment plan, which includes a 60 million euros for the 2019-2020 triennium of those that remain to be invested 49 million for the next two years, and spoke of a relative optimism thanks to the achievement of the stabilization of the economic results.

Specifically, the Japanese chemical company achieved consolidated sales of 428 million euros and a profit after tax of 19 million euros in its 2019 financial year.

Special mention was also made of the creation by UBE at the end of last January of a committee for permanent monitoring of the crisis caused by Covid-19 and the adoption of the necessary measures to guarantee the health and protection of all its own personnel and that of its contractors and related companies, as well as to ensure the continuity of its operations and service to clients.
In this sense, it should be remembered that since the chemical sector is officially classified as a strategic activity, UBE maintained its normal functioning during the first state of alarm that was decreed by the Government last March.
