Ubisoft began testing the NFT trading platform

French video game developer Ubisoft has announced a test launch of the Ubisoft Quartz platform for trading and exchanging collectible tokens (NFT) that will be used in game projects.

According to the company’s press release, NFTs called “Digits” will run on the Tezos blockchain. The first collectible token game will be Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Registration for Quartz will open on December 9, but only residents of the USA, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Australia and Brazil will have access to the platform.

As part of testing the platform, all registered users will be able to participate in a free distribution of tokens. To do this, they must be over 18 years old, own a copy of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint for PC, and reach at least level 5 there. There will be three token giveaways this year – December 9, 12 and 15. In early 2022, the company plans to conduct several more NFT hands.

“Ubisoft Quartz is the first building block for our ambitious vision of a true metaverse. And we will not be able to build such a metaverse if we do not solve the problems of blockchain – scalability and energy consumption, ”- said Nicolas Pouard, vice president of the strategic innovation laboratory at Ubisoft.

The fact that the company plans to develop its gaming projects using blockchain and collectible tokens became known at the end of October. Previously, the company funded several projects in this area, but now Ubisoft has begun to add support for tokens to its own projects. Gaming giant Electronic Arts also became interested in collectible tokens a few months ago.
