UK: Alleged attacks on civilians in Ukraine to be investigated as ‘war crimes’

Allegations of attacks on civilians during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine should be investigated as war crimes, said British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, adding that the United Kingdom would fully support any such move by the International Criminal Court, according to the International Criminal Court. “As Russian troops are forced to retreat, we are seeing more and more evidence of horrific acts by invading forces in cities such as Irpin and Bhutan,” Tra said in a statement, citing locations near Kyiv.

“Their indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians during Russia’s illegal and unwarranted invasion of Ukraine must be investigated as war crimes.”

Russia has previously denied targeting civilians and dismissed allegations of war crimes in what it calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
