UK Embassy denies rumors of King Charles III's death

This Monday (18), UK diplomacy denied rumors that King Charles III had died. The statement was made by the British embassy in Ukraine, after several conspiracy theories involving the royal family spread across the internet in recent weeks.

Charles is being treated for an unspecified form of cancer, which has forced him to cancel public appearances indefinitely. The illness kept the monarch away from one of the main events in the royal calendar, the celebration of Commonwealth Day — a group of 56 countries that were formed from the British Empire.

At the time, he only recorded a video for the ceremony. Still, Charles continues to meet with authorities and carry out his routine duties.

The cancer was identified after a hospitalization for an enlarged prostate correction procedure in January this year. No further information was released regarding the disease, nor about what treatment the king is undergoing.

Historically, the British royal family does not disclose the medical conditions of its members, but Charles said he hopes that talking about the diagnosis will encourage more people to seek treatment and undergo tests.

Kate Middleton's disappearance

Charles is not the only member of the British royal family who has been out of the spotlight after a medical procedure.

Princess Kate Middleton has not been seen for months, recovering from abdominal surgery in January.

Even though the first information indicated that the procedure went well, she was also forced to cancel public commitments, at least until March.

With less information than in relation to Charles, conspiracy theories flooded social media with Kate's “disappearance”.

This controversy came to a head after the release of a photo that supposedly shows Kate with her children. However, after several international agencies raised suspicions about the integrity of the image, the princess herself went public and apologized, stating that she had edited the photo.
