UK: Investigations into how Defender secret documents ended up at a bus stop

Its Ministry of Defense Great Britain announced on Monday (28/06) that it is investigating how Nearly 50 pages of secret military documents were lost by a high-ranking official and ended up at a provincial bus stop in England.

The BBC broadcast that confidential documents, including some related to Afghanistan and others analyzing Russia’s possible reaction to the passage of a British destroyer from the Black Sea, were found last Tuesday in this at least unusual place.

“A number of Department of Defense confidential documents were lost by a high-ranking official early last week,” Deputy Secretary of Defense Jeremy Quinn told lawmakers. He added: “This person himself mentioned it.”

“Among the lost documents was one labeled ‘Secret – UK Eyes only'”, Quinn said according to the APE-MPE and added: “It seems that it is a mistake of a person”.

“UK Eyes Only” means that this document is distributed in the United Kingdom and is not communicated to the Allies. It is not clear how and why such documents ended up at a bus stop or whether or not they were copies or originals.

The documents were found by a citizen, who handed them over to the BBC, which published a report on the matter. The Media handed them over to the ministry, Quinn explained.
