UK industrial sector recovery faltered in Marchaccording to the latest UK industrial and manufacturing production data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Thursday.
Manufacturing production fell -0.2% MoM in March vs. 0% expected and -0.6% recorded in February, while total industrial production fell -0.2% vs. 0.1% expected and -0.3% past.
In annual terms, UK manufacturing output stood at 1.9% in March, below expectations of 2.3%. Total industrial production increased 0.7% in the third month of the year, against 0.4% expected and 2.1% previously.
Separately, UK Goods Trade Balance figures were released, coming in at £23.897m in March, against an expected £18.5bn and £21.614m in the previous month. The total trade balance (non-community) stood at 13,804 million pounds in March, compared to the previous 13,124 million.
