The recovery of the industrial sector seems to have regained some momentum in Septemberthe latest UK manufacturing and industrial production data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed on Friday.
Manufacturing output was 0% MoM in September vs. -0.4% expected and -1.6% registered in August, while total industrial production was 0.2% vs. -0.2% expected and -1.8% prior.
In annual terms, UK manufacturing output stood at -5.8% in Septemberbetter than expectations of -6.6%. Total industrial production fell by 3.1% in the ninth month of the year, against -4.3% expected and -4.3% prior.
Separately, UK Goods Trade Balance figures were released, coming in at £15.656m in September, against £18.75bn forecast and £19.257m previously. The total trade balance (non-EU) was 8,551 million pounds in September, compared to 11,079 million previously.
