Uk: Prince Philip Released From Hospital

AT 99-year-old Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, left the hospital on Tuesday March 16, a month after his admission for an infection, then a heart intervention, a photographer from Agence France-Presse found. The prince, who will celebrate his hundredth birthday in June, was hospitalized on February 16 in a private hospital in London, the King-Edward-VII. During this period, he had “successfully” undergone surgery for a pre-existing heart problem at another facility in the British capital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, which has the largest specialized cardiovascular service in Europe.

Renowned for his strong character, but also for his blunders or jokes in bad taste, Prince Philip was hospitalized in February as a “precaution” after feeling bad. Buckingham Palace had specified a few days later that this hospitalization was due to an infection. Her son, Prince Charles, had visited her. The prince had previously been in confinement with his wife Elizabeth II, 94, in their Windsor Castle, west London.
