THE United Kingdom will require a Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA ) for Brazilians starting January 8, 2025. Applications will be sent starting November 27 of this year. The information is from the UK Government website.
You tourists will have to shell out £10 (around R$72.80) upon application, with children and babies also paying. The authorization covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
THE ETA It is valid for two years and allows tourists to travel to the United Kingdom as many times as they want — and stay there for a maximum of six months. If you change your passport, you will need to issue a new document.
How to issue an ETA for the UK?
To issue the authorization, you must enter on this site with your passport in hand, access to your email and a credit or debit card (Apple Pay and Google Pay are also accepted). The process also requests a photo of your passport and face.
According to the UK government, it takes around three working days for a return on authorization. In some cases, it may take longer.
The ETA does not guarantee entry into the UK, and it is also necessary to go through immigration services. The new authorization is not exclusive to Brazilians, and countries around the world will have to go through the same process.
Travellers with permission to live, work or study in the UK do not need an ETA, nor do those who hold a British or Irish passport or are citizens of British Overseas Territories.
