Ukraine: 13 civilians killed by Russian shelling in Dnipropetrovsk region

Thirteen civilians were killed overnight by Russian shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region of central-eastern Ukraine, governor Valentyn Reznichenko announced.

Two wounded succumbed to their wounds and were added to the 11 dead that had been announced by the governor a few minutes earlier through the Telegram platform.

At last count, the overnight attack also left 11 people injured, five of them seriously, in this relatively safe area where civilians have been moved from Donbas, further east and the focus of Russia’s attack.

“We had a horrible night (…) It is very hard to pull the bodies out of the wreckage,” underlined Valentin Reznichenko in his message. “I’m begging you, go to safe places during the air raid alerts (…) Don’t let the Russians kill you.”

The town of Marganets, which is across the Dnieper River across from Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, and the village of Vyssetarasivka were targeted in this attack with multiple Grad rocket launchers.

“Eighty rockets were deliberately and sneakily fired at residential areas while people were sleeping in their homes,” the governor said, adding that more than 20 buildings were damaged in Marganets, while a power line was also damaged, leaving thousands without electricity. people.

The governor also stated that the attack also damaged a hostel, two schools, a concert hall, the municipal council building and other administrative buildings.
