Ukraine: Antonio Guterres is in Lviv for the tripartite meeting with Zelensky and Erdogan

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres arrived today in the Ukrainian city of Lviv ahead of the tripartite meeting with the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey.

Through Twitter, the United Nations announced the arrival of Guterres in Lviv, stating that the tripartite meeting with Zelensky and Erdogan is scheduled for 12 noon on Thursday.

According to the Turkish presidency, the prospect of finding a diplomatic solution to end the war between Ukraine and Russia will be discussed.

Grain exports from Ukrainian ports that have resumed under the recent UN-brokered deal are also expected to be a major issue. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Tuesday that Guterres will discuss with Zelensky, among other things, the issue of safety at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.

On Friday the UN secretary-general will travel to Odessa and on Saturday he will travel to Istanbul where he will visit the Joint Coordination Center – made up of officials from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations, which oversees grain exports and fertilizers.
