Ukraine has suffered about $ 10 billion in infrastructure damage since the Russian invasion began, Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said on Monday.
That estimate is up to Sunday, he said in a televised comment he made, according to Reuters. “Most of the (damaged) infrastructure will be repaired in one year and the most difficult – in two years,” he said.
Kubrakov said 40,000 people had fled Kharkov on Sunday. However, Ukraine has appealed to Russia to allow citizens to leave other cities, and Interior Ministry spokesman Vadim Denishenko said 4,000 more civilians needed to be evacuated from the outskirts of the capital, Kiev.
“Russia is doing everything it can to prevent (humanitarian) corridors,” Denishenko added.
