Ukraine: At least 9 killed in air raid on a radio and television tower in the Rivne region

At least nine people were killed and nine others wounded today in a Russian military bombing of a radio and television station near the western Ukrainian city of Rivne, local officials said.

“At 18.00 (Greek time), we can say that there are 9 dead and 9 injured,” Vitaly Kombal, the head of Antopil, 15 km east of Rivne and an administrative building right next door, told reporters.

“At the moment, rescue operations are underway and will continue until the rubble of the buildings is completely removed,” he added.

The Ukrainian rescue services reported that the bombing took place around 05.25 Greek time this morning.

According to Kobal, access to the television network was restored in the afternoon in the northern part of the Rivne region through the cable network.
