Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow on Tuesday (6) for the second night, interrupting flights at four airports in the Russian capital and in several other places.
Offensive happens as the city is preparing to host a large military parade that should be attended by world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in a publication on Telegram on Tuesday that at least 19 Ukrainian drones were destroyed as they approached the city at night, a night after Russian airfare dropped four drones near the capital.
The latest Ukrainian attack on the Russian capital occurs before the expected arrival of Xi to Moscow on Wednesday (7) for a three-day state visit.
At the time, the Chinese leader will participate in the celebrations of Victory Day, on May 9, Friday, as reported by Kremlin released on Sunday (4).
The president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the president of Vietnam, to Lam, and the Belarussian leader, Aleksandr Lukashenko, are among the other leaders who should attend.
Victory Day is the most significant in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s calendar, who has long used it to raise public support and demonstrate the country’s military capacity.
Thousands of people are expected to gather on the streets of Moscow Red Square on Friday, in a demonstration of patriotism that marks the role of the Soviet Union in the defeat of Nazi Germany and honors the more than 25 million Soviet soldiers and civilians who died during World War II.

Russian authorities have canceled the celebrations scheduled in some parts of the country – a few hours after the Ukrainian attack at night.
In the south, there will be no parade of the victory in Sebastopol, in the occupied Crimea or in the city of Krasador, according to local governors.
Mikhail Razvozhaev, Russia’s head of Sebastopol, announced the cancellation of the “security reasons” celebrations in a decision determined by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Similarly, Kuban Veniamin Kondratyev, krasador chief, warned that such celebrations represent “a great risk.”
“An aerial threat is announced almost every night. Of course we can’t endanger krasnodar residents, those who attend the parade, the parade participants,” said Kondratyev.
Ukraine will not be “playing”
Last month, Putin declared a three-day unilateral ceasefire in Ukraine to coincide with the May 9 celebrations, based on what he called “humanitarian considerations.”
The announcement of the Russian leader was received with skepticism by Kiev and renewed appeals from the White House by a “permanent ceasefire”, while the Trump government increases the pressure on both countries to reach an agreement ending the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the three-day truce, stating that he was willing only to sign a longer ceasefire of at least 30 days.
And in a message to the dignitaries traveling to Russia for victory day celebrations, the Ukrainian leader warned that Kiev “cannot be responsible for what happens in the Russian federation territory” due to the ongoing conflict.
Ukraine will not be “playing games to create a pleasant atmosphere that allows Putin to depart from isolation on May 9,” said Zelensky in a night speech on Saturday (3).
In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the comments were a threat.
China between the two countries
The Ukrainian leader demanded responses from China in recent weeks after revealing that Two Chinese combatants were captured by Ukraine In early April and claim that there were “many others” in the Russian rows.
Beijing denied any involvement and repeated previous appeals so that Chinese citizens “refrain from participating in military actions from anywhere”.
Kiev has increasingly resorted to drones to balance the game with Russia, which bears superiority in labor and resources.
On Saturday, Ukraine said she had a Russian SU-30 hunt in the Black Sea using a sea drone for the first time.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian authority told the CNN That the country’s armed forces are present in the Russian region of Kursk, days after Moscow claimed to have completely recaptured the western region after a raid of months from Kiev forces.
