Ukraine: Attorney General accuses Russian forces of crimes against humanity

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said today that many actions of Russian forces are categorized as crimes against humanity and that Ukraine in this context is investigating their actions in areas on the outskirts of Kiev, including the city of Butsa.

Speaking on state television, Venediktova said the situation in the city of Borodyanka was the worst in the Kiev region in terms of the number of victims. She did not give further details. Ukrainian authorities said yesterday they were investigating possible crimes by Russian forces after finding hundreds of corpses scattered in cities such as Butsa, outside the capital Kyiv after Russian forces withdrew from the area.
